Constellation Espresso Bar & Fine Coffees

Image
At first, Constellation Coffee had many positive things going for it including it's perfect location and polished and inviting exterior. Unfortunately after entering, it did not meet my expectations. The coffee was mediocre, the atmosphere was awkward and unwelcoming, and the overall experience was less than satisfying. When I walk into a coffee house I want to feel welcomed and comfortable, neither of which Constellation provided. If you are looking for a quiet place to get work done then this might be the place for you, if you are are looking for a place for conversation and relaxation then it probably is not. Though it would be a disservice to you and unfair to Constellation to not include how helpful the baristas.   Coffee: 2/5 Atmosphere: 3/5 Overall: 3/5

Cappuccino, Americano, Macchiato-- What's the Difference?

Image
5/31/17 New Word Wednesday-- Cappuccino Have you ever wondered what makes a cappuccino different from all of the other drinks out there? Have you ever wondered if secretly all those fancy names are the same drink?  Don't worry, they're not.  Generally, a cappuccino will have equal parts steamed milk, espresso, and milk foam. The milk will be frothed with a froth machine into a fluffy, foamy, milky topping  and poured on top of the espresso. This beverage is best consumed shortly after ordering it because of the fickle tendency of the milk foam. Foam, which is one of the things that make cappuccinos unique, will quickly disappear as the temperature cools. If you wait too long to drink it the flavor will change and it will no longer be a cappuccino.  Disclaimer: the milk foam ratio may vary slightly depending on where you are ordering from, but the beverage must contain espresso and foam to be considered a cappuccino ...

The Inspiration

My love of coffee did not happen overnight. It happened one homemade cappuccino at a time with about 25% coffee, 25% froth, and 50% Sugar In The Raw. What started as an innocent evening treat quickly became a slight obsession -oh who am I kidding- it's a full-blown obsession now.  You'd think in a world obsessed with coffee it would be easy to find a source with authentic, honest, and reliable reviews on coffee shops but no. As a newbie to coffee I was left to fend for myself in a brutally judgmental world with answers nowhere to be found. Out of my struggles to understand the coffee lingo that seemed like a foreign language (and a lot of the time it literally is) and find the perfect coffee shop... Love Coffee, Love People was born. I quickly learned that there is not one perfect coffee shop, one perfect drink, or one perfect person to drink it with but that there are many cafes, many drinks, and many people that one can and should explore the world with.   So join me...
